The University of Warwick has now confirmed that St James' has achieved the  National Award for Excellence in Enterprise. We are the first school in Manchester to have achieved this award and one of the very first in the country. It is a reflection of how our curriculum has been especially tailored to meet the values and aims of our school and how we are developing the key skills that are so important for our children - leadership, teamwork, initiative, decision making, problem solving, resilience, and a positive, can-do attitude. The National Standard has been produced by a team of staff at the Centre for Education and Industry based at the University of Warwick, who have specialist experience in enterprise education. Our school was visited by one of their assessors on 8 April who examined a portfolio of evidence, visited lessons, and spoke to pupils, staff and parents. Well done and thank you to everyone -pupils, staff and parents.
