What are our Curriculum AIMS?

'Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.'
      1 Thessalonians 5:11

Our curriculum has been designed to:
  • be exciting and engaging and accessible for all.
  • encourage children to develop a love of learning.
  • develop metacognitive (learning how to learn) and thinking skills
  • be relevant, local, meaningful and develops social conscience.
  • be vocabulary rich.

Our curriculum is designed to enable every child to:
  • achieve well in all areas of the curriculum.
  • retain knowledge and make connections in their learning to deepen understanding.
  • thrive on challenge and actively seek to further their knowledge and deepen their understanding.
  • be engaged, confident and excited to learn.

Our curriculum is designed to promote our school values so that:
  • We treat others with respect,
  • We are resilient,
  • We treat others with forgiveness,
  • We treat others with kindness,
  • We keep inclusion at the heart of the choices that we make,
  • We are a source of joy for the world

Responsive Curriculum

Although teachers are expected to meet the demands of the National Curriculum, including knowledge content and skills, we still considers our curriculum to have ‘space’ for taking opportunities, addressing current affairs. world events and celebrations of culture, meeting identified needs or engaging the interests of particular classes within its approach.
