Maths
Intent
At St James' Primary School, through the 2014 National Curriculum for Maths we aim for all children to:
At our school, these skills are embedded within Maths lessons and developed consistently over time. We are committed to ensuring that children are able to recognise the importance of Maths in the wider world and that they are also able to use their mathematical skills and knowledge confidently in their lives in a range of different contexts. A high-quality mathematics education therefore provides a foundation for understanding the world, the ability to reason mathematically, an appreciation of the beauty and power of mathematics, and a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about the subject. The children will spend time becoming true masters of content, applying and being creative with their new knowledge in multiple ways. |
