St James’s Parent Council- EVERYBODY WELCOME!
Why are we here? We believe that parents are important and make a real difference to children’s learning. When parents are involved children do better and achieve more. How can the parent’s council make a real difference? Schools are more effective when they develop positive relationships with parents and the community they serve. The parent’s council allows parents to have a voice and enables parents to express their views about the school and the ‘schooling’ process. The aims of the parent council are as follows: To develop a safe and relaxed environment where parents feel their views will be heard and respected. To gain the support of parents and actively encourage them to participate in the process of school improvement. To reach ALL families-particularly those where children may be at risk of poor outcomes. To help ‘bridge the gap’ between school and home. To provide feedback to the Governing Body of the school. To promote contact and communication between school, parents, pupils, the community and other providers. Support the school in its work with pupils, parents and carers. If you want to learn more about our work please speak to Adele Clarke (mum of Issie in Y1). This is YOUR meeting come along and be part of St James’s primary. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! |
